Johnstown, Pennsylvania resident Derek Lengenfelder has held a number of positions over the last decade, ranging from intern to senior engineer and technical lead in software engineering. He has worked at Integrity Applications Incorporated, Planned Systems International (PSI) under its wholly-owned subsidiary KINEX, Survice Engineering, and Titan Systems, LLC. In these roles, Derek Lengenfelder has leveraged his bachelor's degree in electrical and computer engineering with a minor in robotics from Carnegie Mellon University, and his deep interest in computer-aided design (CAD), printed circuit board (PCB) design, programming, computer engineering, robotics, and electronics. His contributions to the software engineering industry have earned him several accolades, including an “Above and Beyond” award at Integrity Applications Incorporated and two finalist positions in the Ben Franklin Big Idea Competitions in 2020 and 2022.
Besides his career, Derek Lengenfelder enjoys reading technical material related to his field of study and profession, collecting rocks and coins, and recreational activities such as hiking and SCUBA diving. The latter activity led to his becoming a member of the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI). He speaks Spanish (level 3-4), Portuguese (level 3), and Hebrew (level 1). He is also a National Rifle Association (NRA) member and is a certified marksman with a rifle and pistol (instructor level).
